Astorga: Casa Sacerdotal: not very friendly. They tease you out of your room at 9 am (€ 30=)
THERE IS A HUGE METAL BRIDGE JUST BEFORE ASTORGA TO CROSS THE RAILWAY
Restaurante El Salvador: good food, good value.
Restaurante Serrano (next to the San Javier refuge): good pilgrim menu
Murías de Rechivaldo: bar El Llar: good food etc. (on your left)
Santa Catalina: bar open. New Casa rural
Rabanal del Camino: Albergue del Pilar open all year! Very good (Isabel) dinner/breakfast
Foncebadón: albergue expensive
Cacabelos: new Hotel Villa de Cacabelos (large room: €35= single, including a very good breakfast!)
Villafranca/Bierzo: Hotel Méndez: (near second bridge) good hotel. Breakfast poor.
Next door supermarket: good
Restaurant Sevilla (plaza): good, especially in summer
Trabadelo: new Pensión
Hotel/restaurante Valcarce: good
Ambasmestas: good bar/restaurant on the right (Luis)
Ruitelán: good bar opposite. Hospitalero serves dinner and breakfast. You are wakened up with music.
El Acebo (just past Rabanal): Casa rural La Rosa del Agua: Ph. 616 84 97 38 (from 35=)
Ponferrada: Hostal Santa Cruz is definitely closed. Hotel Madrid nearby is a good alternative €31= incl good breakfast
Good menu at Rest. Maes de Flandes, close to albergue.
Hostal Río Selmo: good (moderate)
