.jpg)
2. San Juan de Villapañada (near Grado) (Drunk hospitalero)
3. Borres (a little bit further down the road.) (A garbage dump)
4. O Cebreiro (hospitalera Patrizia is mentally handicapped; stay away from her!)
4. EZEQUIEL- Melide (ugly interior, well ... interior? You mean: open space!)
(Squid, "Pulpo Gallego'' can be eaten everywhere in Galicia).
5. HOTEL CARLOS 96 - Melide (very unfriendly staff, to say the least)
(noisy weddings, you won't sleep)
6. HOTEL TAMARA - Negreira (the bloody pits; they need to enroll at Catering School in Santiago; there is a
bus service every hour between Negreira and SDC; it stops right in front of the College)
(Lesson one: say "hello" to the customer)
7. HOTEL LA CORTE - Carrión de los Condes (They charge € 9= for a ¨reasonable¨ menu and € 1,75 for a LOUSY black coffee.)
MENU: MACARONES CON SALSA DE TOMATE, ENSALADILLA, ENSALADA MIXTA, PATATAS FRITAS CON POLLO, CARNE ASADA etc.
Not exactly Three Star Michelín yet. But, who knows in the future?
8. Hostal/Restaurante MELCHIORA - Sangüesa

The cook and waiter know absolutely, completely nothing (0,0 %) about food.
Order coffee only.
Last month a person wrote the word 'BAHAI' on just about every sign
in Galicia. The result was that many pilgrims now put a seven letter f-word in front of this "BAHAI".
I wonder if that person applied for the Compostela? (Every sign has to be repainted.)
Yesterday a German couple arrived at SDC with a two year old daughter and
a son of 6 months. They walked from Pamplona to Santiago, carrying the
boy in a rucksack and the child in a trolley.
I took a picture from the young guy who had -so far- spent
15% of his life inside a backback.

Latest discovery: Casa Rural Dugium in the valley between Fisterra and Muxía.
They are really friendly and served me an excellent breakfast when I passed
there a few weeks ago in very bad weather! (click here)

Last month it rained!
I was recently interviewed by the VRT (Belgian First Channel Television) in the
Pilgrims’ Comedor of the Hostal de los Reyes Católicos.
The program will be broadcasted on "EEN" later this year.
Below a photo of the VRT Crew in the main kitchen of the Hostal.

24 MAY:
Thank you Mr. Ríos from the Hostal mentioned above. You have been working
here for 40 years and are doing a great job, handing out tickets to pilgrims to receive
a free meal.
